Custom Enterprise Management

How an Enterprise Revived its Operations

The Context :

Every enterprise effectively differs in its operational style. Many organizations function distinctly on the basis of their geography, workforce and the outlook of the promoter. Take the example of this leading manufacturer of chemicals in India. For the purpose of its stock management, they had been following customary methods set up through hand written data management.

The Challenge :

The company workflow was such that the operations were people dependent and not process dependent. Through heavy induced dependencies and cross-departmental centers of power, it was becoming extremely difficult for the management of the organization to keep a track of the occurrences in the organizations.

The Solution :

Working on custom specifications, as a protocol, a custom process audit and blue-printing was delegated to us to map the effective workflows of the organization. The entire life-cycle of the organization was mapped with inputs from stakeholders within the organization. It was observed that the functionality had a lapse of processes and was unable to comply with data adherence mechanisms due to resistance and easy bypass mechanisms. Due to the de-central nature of the data, it was difficult for the management to track and trace the input and output on a real time basis. The available data was altered and manipulated according to the apt convenience and due to the elaborate nature of the process, the management didn’t intervene in the process citing profitability. However, on inspection, it was observed that the top line was affected by at least 5-7%. A process integration tool was developed for them as per their requirement.

The Output :

As there were multiple processes, a linkage was established between the production and the ready inventory. The relay of the stock was actively captured on the workflow and this enabled a bird eye view for the management to take a peep into the live operations of the organization by ensuring data access centrally. The brief given for the software was the convenience of the end user. The end users being from rural areas, had limited knowledge of language leave aside their ability to use a computer.

As a result, a click based production management, log sheet automation and inventory mapping tool was developed integrating the ecosystem around the enterprise. The client recognized this very effort to ensure that we delivered to them applications for customer relationship management, Human resource and the Purchase automation.

Our work in the organization has been effectively recognized and won accolades from the end users of the software, a feat difficult to attain in the world of enterprise software. This enabled us to work our way forward into the world of core enterprise solutions.
